A Beaumont woman is suing two Groves residents over injuries she sustained in an auto collision.
Plaintiff Linda Guerrero was involved in a wreck with defendants Jose Ernesto Cruz Urias and Jesus Ivan Jaquez. She filed a lawsuit against them on Dec. 11 in Jefferson County District Court.
The suit does not give any details about the incident, such as the date or location of the collision, which of the defendants was driving the car or the nature of Guerrero's injuries.
She alleges the defendants are negligent for failing to maintain control of the vehicle, failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to apply brakes in a timely manner. Allegations of driver inattentiveness and negligent entrustment are also included in the lawsuit.
According to the original complaint, each of the acts of negligence was a proximate cause of the collision.
The plaintiff is seeking compensation for past and future medical bills, mental anguish, physical pain and suffering, physical impairment, disfigurement, destruction of personal property and interest.
James Payne of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP in Beaumont is representing the plaintiff.
The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
