Christus executive to discuss healthcare reform at Lamar University


Lamar University's College of Business will host Paul Trevino, administrator of CHRISTUS Hospital-St. Elizabeth, as the ExxonMobil Executive in Residence Dec. 2.

Trevino will discuss "Healthcare Reform and the Changing Political Landscape: Practical Implications for Southeast Texas," at 11 a.m. in the Landes Auditorium in the Galloway Business Building.

The lecture is open to the public without charge. Trevino will also meet with College of Business faculty members and will host a question-and-answer session with graduate students later in the day.

Trevino has nearly 20 years of healthcare experience, including 14 years with CHRISTUS health. He has previously served as associate administrator/chief operating officer at St. Elizabeth and senior vice president of administration for the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System, which comprises six hospitals in the Corpus Christi area.

As administrator, Trevino's focus centers on patient care and safety and ensuring St. Elizabeth's history of excellence and community service in Southeast Texas.

Trevino holds a master of business administration in marketing from St. Mary's University in San Antonio and a bachelor's degree in finance from Corpus Christi State University, now Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Trevino's visit is made possible by a grant from ExxonMobil.
