Woman alleges plastic surgeon botched tummy tuck

GALVESTON - A Galveston County woman has filed suit against a local plastic surgery center and a physician she claims performed a botched abdominalplasty.

In a lawsuit filed on June 3 in Galveston County District Court, Tammy Lenaburg explains that she went to South Shore Plastic Surgery on June 3, 2008, to have Charles G. Polsen M.D. repair her fascia so her abdominal muscles could tighten.

The original petition insists the necessary repairs were not performed as shown by the void of suture repair thus the plaintiff suffered impairment, serious pain and suffering, mental anguish, and permanent disfigurement requiring future corrective surgery.

"All damages are attributable to the defendants' inappropriate medical procedure and abandonment of the plaintiff," the suit says.

Consequently, Lenaburg seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Attorney Catherine H. Herrington of Houston is representing the plaintiff.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 405th District Court Judge Wayne Mallia.
