GALVESTON - A Galveston woman alleges her apartment's management company unlawfully excluded her from her unit and wrongfully seized her personal property, recent court documents say.
Erikka Francis's lawsuit against 100% Leased Management argues that the plaintiff returned to her apartment on May 7 and discovered that the door locks had been blocked by the defendant "with the obvious intent to exclude her from the lease premises."
The locks were changed the previous day, Francis says.
The suit was filed June 10 in Galveston County Court No. 2.
Francis insists that 100% Leased Management failed to provide her notice as to when, where, or how a new key could be obtained as well as neglected to inform her about the removal of her personal effects from the apartment.
She claims the defendant allowed her TV and DVD player to be stolen after the alleged seizure.
Consequently, Francis seeks monetary damages of more than $3,000 in addition to the return of her property.
Attorney Duana Boswell-Loechel of Galveston is representing the plaintiff.
The case has been assigned to Galveston County Court No. 2 Judge C.G. "Trey" Dibrell III.
