GALVESTON - A Houston woman claims she was involved in a wreck with a Pasadena man who reportedly did not carry a valid driver's license, recent court documents say.
Mian Wang is suing Micheal Copeland after he allegedly struck her vehicle from behind on June 9 as the two motorists traveled along FM 1266 in Dickinson.
Wang's suit was filed Oct. 4 in Galveston County District Court.
The original complaint blames defendant Copeland for failing to control his speed and operating a motor vehicle unlicensed. It also points out the vehicle Copeland was driving did not belong to him but to Guillermo Taylor of Dickinson.
Taylor is also named a defendant in the case.
"As a result of the impact, the plaintiff suffered injury and property damages," the suit says.
Wang insists she did nothing to bring forth the alleged accident.
Copeland is faulted for negligence while Taylor is blamed for negligent entrustment, according to the suit.
The plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.
She is represented by attorney Rich Melendez of Houston.
Galveston County 212th District Court Judge Susan Criss is presiding over the case.
