GALVESTON - United Fire Lloyds has filed suit against Henry Schein Inc. over a water leak earlier this year at a client's offices, recent court documents say.
The insurance company's lawsuit, which was filed Oct. 28 in Galveston County District Court, states that the employees of policyholder Bayview Dental Center arrived at the facility the morning of April 23 to discover water-damaged equipment and supplies.
An investigation revealed that the water came from a failed supply line, according to the original petition.
The plaintiff claims the line was for an X-ray processor which the defendants reportedly installed and estimates the damages to total approximately $40,000.
"The plaintiff would show that the defendant was negligent in the manner in which they installed the water supply line for the x-ray processor, and their negligence proximately caused Bayview Dental Center to suffer damages," the suit says.
Kelly, Smith & Murrah PC is representing the plaintiff.
The case has been assigned to Galveston County 405th District Court Judge Wayne Mallia.
