Wreck in Friendswood subject of lawsuit

GALVESTON - Jean Gill of Friendswood claims that she sustained multiple injuries from an auto accident with Scott Alley of Pearland, recent court documents say.

Gill's lawsuit alleges that defendant Alley rear-ended the plaintiff's vehicle as both parties were traveling on FM 2351 near FM 18 in Friendswood the afternoon of April 8, 2009.

The original complaint was filed Nov. 19 in Galveston County District Court.

Gill, who was driving a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck, was following another vehicle en route to FM 518 when they reached a traffic light at the end of a bridge and stopped.

The vehicle in front of Gill's made a left hand turn, prompting the plaintiff to slow down. As the plaintiff was in the process of slowing, the defendant, who was apparently behind her, collided with the truck, the suit says.

Gill insists that she suffered injuries to her neck, right shoulder, head and other parts of her body as a result of the alleged incident.

She consequently seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Attorney John Somyak of Houston is representing the plaintiff, and Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor is presiding over the case.
