Houston woman sues over unsafe lane change

GALVESTON - A Houston woman has filed suit over an auto accident last year near the Texas City highway intersection.

Cassandra Laverne Walker's lawsuit against Cheryl Denise Archie of Galveston claims that on March 12, 2009, Archie made an unsafe lane change as the two motorists traveled north along the Highway 146/Highway 6 exchange.

The suit was filed Dec. 9 in Galveston County District Court.

Archie left her lane of traffic "all of the sudden and without warning" and struck the plaintiff's vehicle with force, the original petition says.

Both vehicles came to rest north of the intersection after the alleged collision.

Walker additionally blames Archie for failing to control her speed, not keeping a proper lookout and not taking proper evasive action to avoid the accident.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by The Law Office of Domingo Garcia, LLP.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox.
