Seaman sues King Fisher over injury aboard ship

GALVESTON A seaman from Hidalgo County claims that he injured his ankle while working aboard a ship a couple of months ago.

According to Ismael Reyna's lawsuit against King Fisher Marine Service LP, the Penitas resident was handling lines on the Patty G on Nov. 14 when he hurt himself.

The suit was filed Jan. 5 in Galveston County District Court.

Reyna says that the Patty G's movement along the water triggered the alleged incident, which also inflicted injuries to his back and general body. His ankle eventually required surgery, the original petition adds.

The plaintiff insists he also sustained mental anguish, disfigurement and impairment thus seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Denena & Points P.C.

Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox is presiding over the case.

Case No. 11-cv-0016
