Construction companies in litigation over Texas City school project

GALVESTON Entis Mechanical Services LLC claims Drymalla Construction Co. Inc. and Federal Insurance Co. owe it a payment bond, recent court documents say.

In a lawsuit filed Feb. 28 in Galveston County Court at Law No. 3, Entis asserts that the defendants failed and have refused to pay it $1,262 for work performed on the Texas City Independent School District's Simpson Education Center.

TCISD hired the plaintiff as a subcontractor while Drymalla acted as the prime contractor of the project and Federal served as the bond's surety. The school district required Drymalla to provide a payment bond that is beneficial to Entis on the Simpson Education Center, the original petition says.

According to the suit, Entis provided labor and materials on the work "for which it has not been paid."

Attorney Michael T. McGann of Houston is representing the complainant, and Galveston County Court at Law No. 3 Judge Christopher Dupuy is presiding over the case.
