MARSHALL - After slipping and falling, Debra Wilson has filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. on March 31 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.
According to court documents, while shopping at a Wal-Mart in Tyler on Aug. 29, 2010, Wilson slipped on a liquid substance that had been left on the floor. She states she sustained serious injury due to the fall.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the floor of the store in a reasonably safe condition, allowing a slippery substance on the floor, failing to warn of the danger presented by the presence of the slippery substances on the floor and other negligent actions.
Wilson is seeking damages for pain and mental anguish, loss of earnings and earning capacity, physical impairment, disfigurement, medical expenses, court costs and interest.
The plaintiff is represented by Tyler attorney Luke Bickham. A jury trial is requested.
U.S. District Judge T. John Ward is assigned to the case.
