Recent patent infringement cases filed in the Eastern District of Texas

  • Information Protection and Authentication of Texas v. Digital River Inc.

    IPAT is a Texas limited liability company with its principal place of business in Marshall.

    The defendant is accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 5,311,591 issued May 10, 1994, for Computer System Security Method and Apparatus for Creating and Using Program Authorization Information Data Structures; and U.S. Patent No. 5,412,717 issued May 2, 1995, for Computer System Security Method and Apparatus Having Program Authorization Information Data Structures.

    IPAT is asking the court to issue an injunction to prevent further infringement and for an award of damages, treble damages, interest, attorney's fees and court costs.

  • U.S. Patent No. 7,295,443 issued Nov. 13, 2007, for Smartconnect Universal Flash Media Card Adapters; and
  • U.S. Patent No. 7,522,424 issued April 21, 2009, for Smartconnect Universal Flash Media Card Adapters.

    Technologies Properties is asking the court for an award of damages, enhanced damages, attorney's fees and court costs.

    The defendant is accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 7,851,504 B2 issued Dec. 14, 2010, for Enhanced Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution; and U.S. Patent No. 5,688,819 issued Nov. 18, 1997, for Cyclopentane Heptanoic Acid, 2-Cycloalkyl or Arylalkyl Derivatives as Therapeutic Agents.

    The plaintiff is asking the court to issue an injunction to prevent further infringement and for an award of damages, treble damages, interest, attorney's fees and court costs.
