Woman sues Walgreen's for $900,000 after slip-and-fall incident

MARSHALL - A Camp County woman is suing Walgreen's for more than $900,000 after she slipped on a wet floor and suffered injuries.

Claiming she can no longer live in her house, Shana Redfearn filed suit against Walgreen Co. on Sept. 28 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

The incident occurred on Feb. 1, 2010 when Redfearn slipped and fell due to a wet floor.

The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to clean and dry the walking surface, failing to adequately warn of the dangerous condition, failing to train their employees to properly manage the premises to help prevent and clean up the dangerous conditions and failing to carpet the shopping area to take into considerations the spilling of wet materials on the floor.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $900,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of use of house, relocation expenses, pain and mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, court costs and interest.

Redfearn is represented by Scot G. Dollinger of Dollinger Law in Houston.

U. S. District Judge T. John Ward is assigned to the case.
