60-year-old bank CEO files age discrimination lawsuit after termination

SHERMAN - A bank executive has filed an age discrimination lawsuit after she was terminated from her position.

Sandra McKinney filed suit against Trenton Bankshares Inc., doing business as First National Bank of Trenton, on May 22 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

McKinney was employed by Trenton Bankshares at its Trenton offices for approximately 26 years. At the time of her termination in September 2011 she was employed as the chief operating officer and executive vice president.

McKinney was 60 years of age at the time of her discharge. She claims that the defendant's stated reason for her discharge was a pretext.

The defendant is accused of violating the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

The plaintiff is asking the court for an award of damages for mental anguish, punitive damages, court costs, interest and attorney's fees.

McKinney is represented by Sherman attorney Ronald R. Huff.

A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Richard A. Schell is assigned to the case.
