GALVESTON - Another lawsuit was filed over an alleged multiple-vehicle collision in League City that occurred almost two years ago.
League City resident Marjorie Guillot was first sued on March 13, 2012, in response to the March 31, 2011, accident by one of the drivers in the four-vehicle pileup.
On March 25, area resident Prince Ella Green submitted court documents before the Galveston County Court at Law No. 3 alleging their vehicle was at the front of the "chain reaction accident" attributed to Guillot.
The original petition shows Green, who operated a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck, was waiting at a traffic light at the intersection of Lawrence Road and League City Parkway prior to the incident in question.
According to the plaintiff, Guillot, in a 2007 Honda Civic, rear-ended a 2001 Jeep Wrangler, causing the latter vehicle to go into a 1999 Toyota Sienna that ultimately struck the back of Green's truck.
The motorist who operated the Sienna is not a party in the case.
Green claims to have sustained a sprain neck, chest pain and left shoulder and back contusions as a result of the accident.
Guillot is blamed for failing to control her speed as well as conduct that was "wanton and reckless."
Consequently, the complainant seeks $50,000 in damages.
Attorney Okon J. Usoro of Okon J. Usoro PC in Houston is representing Green, and Galveston County Court at Law No. 3 Judge Christopher Dupuy is presiding over the litigation.
