GALVESTON - A Houston woman seeks $40,000 in damages from a Pearland resident she claims slammed into her at a traffic light in Friendswood last year.

Ericka Esquivel filed a lawsuit against Ann Nicole Hall in Galveston County District Court on May 22.

Recent court documents show Esquivel was waiting on a green light in the 1400 block of Moore Road the evening of Aug. 17, 2012, when the subject event occurred.

The plaintiff says Hall struck her vehicle from behind just as she started to slowly accelerate upon the light turning green.

She insists that she sustained physical injuries that required medical treatment.

Hall is blamed for:

  • Failing to sufficiently apply her brakes;

  • Failing to control her speed;

  • Failing to operate her vehicle in a non-negligent manner; and

  • Failing to maintain a proper lookout.

A jury trial is requested.

Attorney Benjamin R. Roberts of The Pinkerton Law Firm PLLC in Houston is representing Esquivel, and Galveston County 10th District Court Judge Kerry L. Neves is presiding over the litigation.

Case No. 13-CV-706
