Air conditioner repairman sues for overtime wages

SHERMAN - An air conditioner repairman has filed a lawsuit claiming his employer violated federal law by not paying him overtime wages.

Dustin Sigmon filed suit against Air Doctor Inc. on Aug. 7 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

Sigmon worked for the defendant from May 2006 through August 2011 as an air conditioner repairman. He claims that during his employment, he worked in excess of 40 hours but was not paid one and one-half times his regular rate of pay for each overtime hour worked.

The defendant is accused of violating the Fair Labor Standard Act for not paying overtime wages.

Sigmon is seeking an award of damages, attorney’s fees, court costs and interest.

The plaintiff is represented by Jonathan Sandstrom Hill and Charles L. Scalise of Ross Law Group in Austin. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Richard A. Schell is assigned to the case.
