SHERMAN - A billing manager has filed a lawsuit against her employer claiming that she was not paid overtime wages.

Jamie Evans filed suit against Mesquite Injury Rehab PA and Samuela Stankovic on Aug. 31 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

Evans was employed by the defendants from Dec. 18, 2006, through June 15, 2012, as a billing manager.

She claims that during her employment with the defendant she worked in excess of 40 hours, but was not paid overtime wages.

The defendant is accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act, which prohibits the denial of overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.

The plaintiff is seeking an award of damages for unpaid overtime pay, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, interest and court costs.

Evans is represented by Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin. A jury trial is requested.
