HOUSTON - The Hair Club for Men and Aderans America Holdings Inc. face a sexual harassment lawsuit from a group of stylists.
Recent court documents filed Sept. 11 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas claims the employees, all female, were subjected to unwanted sexual advances.
Each worker's complaint was met with some sort of adverse action, according to the original petition.
Listed as plaintiffs are Lachaya Wright, of La Marque; Meaghan Nystrom, of Spring; Maria Murdock, of Pearland; Carol Kimble, of Missouri City and Houston residents Alyshia Crumbley, Tiffany Martin and Astoria Stubbs.
The suit claims the complainants were sexually harassed by manager Derrick Tomlin and sales support administrator Gina Fanning, alleging Tomlin made lewd, demeaning comments and inappropriately touched the stylists while Fanning flashed her private parts at some of them.
Efforts to address the purported wrongdoing were unsuccessful as the plaintiffs were disciplined instead.
They insist they were retaliated against for reporting the aforementioned harassment.
A jury trial is requested.
Attorney Troy J. Pradia of The Cox Pradia Law Firm PLLC in Houston is representing the claimants.
