Accident at Beaumont intersection results in lawsuit

An Orange County resident is suing after he was injured in a car crash. 

Bryan K. Simmons filed a lawsuit Sept. 25 in the District Court of Jefferson County against Cosme Argelio Sanchez-Hill and Danisley Tamayo Ordonez, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 1, 2011, Simmons was injured when his vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Sanchez-Hill at the intersection of Interstate 10 East and Martin Luther King Parkway in Beaumont. The vehicle driven by the defendant is owned by Ordonez, according to the filing.

According to the complaint, Sanchez-Hill entered the intersection against a red light and failed to exercise due care, causing the accident. As a result, the plaintiff received injuries that have caused physical pain and mental anguish.

Simmons is seeking damages between $100,000 and $200,000. He is being represented in the case by Jeffrey C. Chilton of Packard Lapray.
