Beaumont car accident results in lawsuit

A Beaumont woman is suing after she was involved in an automobile accident.

Wanda T. Menefee filed a lawsuit Oct. 23 against Erica Renee Segura in Jefferson County District Court, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 30, 2012, Menefee and Segura were involved in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Southerland Street and Waco Street in Beaumont. The plaintiff states the defendant failed to stop at a stop sign.

Menefee is seeking damages in excess of $100,000, but not more than $200,000. She is being represented in the case by attorney Jeffrey C. Chilton.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
