Pregnant woman sues after car crash

A pregnant woman is suing a couple alleging they failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into her vehicle.

Angel Holland filed a lawsuit Nov. 13 in the District Court of Jefferson County against Kenneth Richards II and Jean Richards, citing negligence.

Holland says that on Oct. 8 she was traveling southbound in the 5900 block of Comstock Road. According to the complaint, at the same time the defendants were supposed to stop at the stop sign in the 4800 block of Ada Avenue but failed to yield the right of way and collided with Holland's vehicle.

Holland, who at the time of the collision was seven months pregnant, sustained injures to her stomach, neck, back and knees and was taken by an ambulance to the emergency room.

Holland is seeking damages between $100,000 and $500,000.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Clay Dugas of Clay Dugas & Associates.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the litigation.
