A Jefferson County resident has sued after sustaining an injury in car crash.
Ronald Beverly filed a lawsuit against Rene Benavides and Sunland Construction Inc., on Dec. 17 in the District Court of Jefferson County, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 26, Beverly was driving southbound on Meeker Road near Highway 90 when Benavides allegedly failed to yield and struck Beverly's vehicle, causing the plaintiff injury.
Sunland Construction was negligent in hiring Benavides and failed to investigate Benavides' driving record, according to the complaint.
Beverly is seeking damages between $500,000 and $1 million.
He is being represented in the case by attorney E. Hart Green of Weller Green Toups & Terrell LLP.
The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
