Car wreck at MLK and I-10 results in lawsuit

A Fort Worth resident is suing after he was injured in a car accident.

Bryan K. Green filed a lawsuit Jan. 3 in the Jefferson County District Court against Dudley T. Dent, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on July 21, Green was injured in a motor vehicle collision when the defendant collided with the plaintiff at Martin Luther King Parkway and Interstate 10 in Beaumont.

The plaintiff contends the defendant ran a red light and failed to yield the right of way, which caused the collision.

The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to maintain a proper lookout, failing to apply the brakes, failing to maintain control of his vehicle, failing to avoid the collision, traveling at an unsafe speed and failing to maintain an adequate distance, according to the complaint.

Green is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages. He is being represented in the case by attorney Maria Orozco.
