Carlos Glaskox filed suit in Galveston County District Court on Jan. 13, naming Anthony Paul Griffin as the sole defendant.
Glaskox is accusing attorney Griffin of negligently representing him in his civil rights lawsuit against Harris County officials.
In his complaint, Glaskox says he paid Griffin $10,000 in May 2010 to represent him in his civil rights lawsuit against various Harris County officials.
Glaskox claims Griffin provided negligent representation and led him to believe his claim was worth "six figures."
According to Glaskox, his lawsuit was not filed in a timely manner and was dismissed on multiple occasions due to Griffin's alleged malfeasance.
The lawsuit was ultimately dismissed with Glaskox taking nothing, and he blames his lack of success on Griffin's carelessness.
Griffin is being accused of negligence, breach of his fiduciary duty, fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Glaskox is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
He is being represented by attorney Paul H. Lavalle.
