A Beaumont resident is being sued for allegedly causing an auto accident.

Christopher Barrier filed a lawsuit Jan. 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against Beaumont resident Michelle Fournier, citing negligence in operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, on June 11, 2012, the defendant was allegedly driving faster than conditions warranted near Glenbrook Drive and Gaulding Road and failed to turn or slow down, causing a collision with the plaintiff.

Barrier claims he suffered injuries that have and will continue to prevent him from working at his normal job.

Barrier is seeking damages in excess of $100,000.

He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Keith M. Fletcher of Simmons and Fletcher.
