Entergy Texas named in claim after home catches fire

Telephone pole electric lines

Entergy Texas is being sued after a home they worked on caught fire.

Miguel Sanchez and Jose Hernandez filed a lawsuit April 16 in the Jefferson County District Court against Entergy Texas Inc., citing negligence and breach of contract.

The plaintiffs claim they entered into an agreement with the electric  provider to connect power lines to their home on Sept. 27. According to the brief, the defendant allegedly installed and connected the electrical power lines on the house backwards in numerous locations, causing the house to catch fire.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, interest, attorney's fees and court costs.

They are being represented in the case by attorney John Pat Parsons of Lindsay Lindsay and Parsons in Beaumont.
