A Jefferson County man is suing a construction company claiming it did not complete his home.
Curtis Cummings filed a lawsuit April 22 in the Jefferson County District Court against Rodney Davis and Fresh Start Homes LLC, citing breach of contract.
Cummings claims he entered into an agreement with the defendants to construct a home on Rapha Street in Beaumont. Under the contract, Cummings would provide up to $80,550 for the construction of the home.
The suit alleges the defendants discontinued construction on the property in July regardless of the $75,000 had already Cummings invested.
According to the suit, Cummings wasn't able to sell the house for a sale price of $125,000 because it was unfinished, which caused Cummings to lose out on a profitable return on his investment.
Cummings is seeking a full and complete accounting from the defendants, return of the funds and interest or for the defendants to complete the home, attorney's fees and court costs.
He is being represented in the case by Beaumont attorney Thomas O. Moses.
