Cellular Sales of Texas is suing a former employee for stealing its equipment.
Cellular Sales of Texas LLC filed a lawsuit April 29 in the Jefferson County District Court against Niovis Workman, citing breach of contract and fraud.
The plaintiff claims Workman began to work for the company in late 2012 to sell cellphones and cellphone plans. The suit alleges Workman signed an agreement stating she would be responsible for all products checked out in her name and if she failed to return any products she would be responsible for the full cost of the products. According to the brief, the plaintiff discovered Workman engaged in several acts of fraud and theft of the plaintiff's equipment in the amount of $10,893.17.
The plaintiff is seeking arbitration awarded in the amount of $14,424.67 and any other relief the court deems just. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorneys C. Larry Carbo III and Katherine L. Petroski of Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams and Aughtry.
