Two Port Arthur residents are suing a Port Neches driver after being involved in a car accident.

Niki Boudreaux and Samantha Hernandez filed a lawsuit May 6 in the Jefferson County Court against Zack Byrd, citing negligence.

The complaint states Boudreaux and Hernandez were traveling north in the 1900 block of FM366/Magnolia Street on Aug. 10, when Byrd turned left without yielding to the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs allege the accident, injuries and damages were caused by the defendant's negligence.

The plaintiffs are seeking monetary damages of more than $200,000, but not more than $1,000,000. Boudreaux and Hernandez are being represented in the case by David P. Wilson of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP.
