Mother sues Happy Beginnings daycare after child sustains injuries

A Beaumont daycare has been sued after a child allegedly sustained injury.

Krystal Richardson, individually and as next friend of Taraji Hartfield, filed a lawsuit May 5 in the Jefferson County Court against Cross Daycare Inc., doing business as Happy Beginnings, citing negligence, negligence per se, negligent misrepresentation, respondeat superior and breach of contract.

The complaint states Taraji Hartfield was enrolled at Happy Beginnings daycare at 4195 Treadway Road, Beaumont. The plaintiff contends Taraji Hartfield sustained a head injury while under the care and supervision of the defendant May 15, 2012.

Richardson is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages, including punitive damages. The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Sam K. Mukerji of Nielsen & Mukerji LLP.
