Vehicle collision at intersection in Groves ends in lawsuit

A two-car collision has resulted in a lawsuit.

Stephanie Chratain filed a lawsuit May 20 in the Jefferson County District Court against Deborah Barbosa Newsom, citing negligence. 

According to the complaint, on Sept. 4, Chratain was driving her vehicle at the intersection of 39th Street and Main Avenue in Groves when a vehicle driven by Newsom collided into the plaintiff.

As a result of the accident, Chratain sustained bodily injury and incurred medical costs, according to the suit.

The plaintiff is accusing Newsom of negligent conduct which caused the accident. Chratain is seeking damages within the jurisdictional limits of the court.

She is being represented by attorney John A. Carwile.
