A human resources company and its owner are suing multiple defendants, accusing them of ruining its business reputation.
Juanita Vera and Go USA International HR LLC filed suit May 27 in the Jefferson County District Court against Waysie S. Jensen, Beaumont Police Department, Hubert Oxford, Benckenstein & Oxford LLP, Ruben Dorantes, G&D Construction and Builders, G&D Roofing Construction and Maria Guadalupe Vega Cruz.
According to its website, Go USA International HR LLC Consists of Case Management Services under a division called H.O.P.E. Hispanics organized to Promote Education.
"We take on the challenges of homelessness, domestic violence, hunger, education, medical services, financial recovery and pain recovery," the site states. "The corporation evolved as the need of the citizens in America evolved. We are dedicated in the Holy Spirit to provide assistance where we can."
According to the complaint, Vera and her company Go USA were hired by the defendants to provide HR services beginning in October. She states at the time she was mistaken by G&D clients for defendant Vega Cruz, and her cell phone was bombarded by misdirected client calls, including calls from creditors seeking payments for returned checks.
On May 13, the creditors filed a lien against Vera and called the Beaumont Police Department in an attempt to recover funds.
The plaintiff is accusing the defendants of ruining her reputation and for paying her for services with checks that didn't clear the bank.
Vera is seeking damages and costs.
She is appearing in the case pro se.
