Mate Transport and Logistics sued after truck driver involved in collision

A Mississippi man is suing over claims he was injured in a collision with an 18-wheeler.


Gerald Brewer Sr. filed a lawsuit May 22 in the Jefferson County District Court against Mate Transport and Logistics Inc. and Arturo Vasquez Villanueva, citing negligence. 


According to the complaint, Brewer was driving west on Interstate Highway 10 on Sept. 28, when his car was struck by an 18-wheeler driven by Villanueva and owned by Mate Transport, when Villanueva attempted to change lanes.


Brewer says he was injured, and the defendants are accused of negligence.


Brewer is seeking more than $75,000 in damages.


He is being represented in the case by attorneys Langdon Smith and Frank W. Robertson of Jim S. Adler & Associates.
