Foot xray

A Galveston County woman is suing over claims she was injured when a mall store's checkout counter collapsed.

Kristi Ann Johanson filed a lawsuit June 10 in the Galveston County District Court against White House | Black Market Inc., citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, Johanson was a customer at the White House | Black Market store in Baybrook Mall in Friendswood on Oct. 21, 2012, when the checkout counter collapsed on her left foot, and she suffered a bone fracture in her foot.

The defendant is accused of failing to warn customers of the dangerous condition and providing a safe checkout counter.

Johanson is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional limits.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Michael A. Lamson in Houston.
