Hampton Inn, Hilton sued after hotel guest slips on wet floor

A Louisiana woman is suing over claims she was injured on the wet floor of a hotel. 


Angela Dugan filed a lawsuit June 12 in the Galveston County District Court against TMI Hospitality Inc., Hampton Inns Management LLC, Hampton Inns LLC, Tharaldson Motels Inc., Tharaldson Motels II Inc., Tharaldson Enterprises XXVIII Ltd. Partnership, Tharaldson Executive Management Inc., Tharaldson Properties Inc., Hilton Hhonors Worldwide LLC, Hilton Worldwide Inc., Hilton Texas Inc., Hilton Franchise LLC and Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc.


According to the complaint, Dugan was a guest at the defendants' Hampton Inn located in Texas City on June 24, 2012, when she slipped on a freshly mopped floor and sustained injuries.


Dugan says two wet floor signs were placed in the area but were not visible by those exiting the elevators.


The defendants are accused of failing to maintain a safe premises for their guests.


Dugan is seeking more than $200,000 in damages.


She is being represented in the case by attorney Allison H. Gabbert of Godsey Martin PC in Houston.
