Mckamie reginald sr

A Harris County man is suing over claims he was discriminated against by his employer.

Gaspar Salas filed a lawsuit June 12 in the Southern District of Texas against GE Oil & Gas, citing race discrimination.

According to the complaint, Salas was hired as a machinist July 11, 2011, by GE Oil & Gas, where his supervisor allegedly used derogatory language to criticize his intelligence and Mexican nationality.

Salas claims he reported the treatment to a manager and human resources eight times, and claims that in retaliation, the supervisor treated him worse, cutting his hours and encouraging others to find a reason to fire him.

The defendant is accused of race discrimination, discrimination and retaliation.

Salas is seeking an injunction enjoining the defendant from engaging in unlawful employment practices, judgment for actual damages, exemplary damages and treble damages within the jurisdictional limits of the court, reasonable attorney fees, costs and further relief as the court deems just.

He is being represented in the case by attorney Reginald McKamie Sr. in Houston.
