Woman sues after injury from U.S. Highway 90 collision

An accident in Beaumont has resulted in injuries and a lawsuit.

Evelyn Rodriguez-Hernandez filed suit June 13 in the Jefferson County District Court against George Alex Polar Jr. 

According to the complaint, on March 7, 2013, the plaintiff was driving east on U.S. Highway 90 in the 3400 block in Beaumont when the defendant, who was driving north on Eighth Street at the intersection with Highway 90, failed to yield the right of way and collided into the plaintiff's vehicle.

The defendant is accused of negligence and negligence per se which caused the accident and serious injuries to Rodriguez-Hernandez, the suit states.

The plaintiff is seeking special and general damages in an amount more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000, costs and any other relief the court deems just.
