A Galveston County man is suing over claims he was injured during a car accident.
Kevin Haney filed suit June 18 in the Galveston County District Court against Michaela Graves and Valerie Matejka, citing negligence.
Haney claims he was a passenger in Matejka's car traveling east on Highway 6 on Sept. 18, 2013, when Matejka's vehicle was involved in an accident and Haney was injured.
The suit alleges Matejka slowed down to turn and Graves rear-ended her vehicle, causing Haney to suffer physical and mental pain and to incur medical expenses.
According to the suit, Graves failed to keep a lookout, failed to control the speed of her vehicle, failed to timely apply the brakes and failed to keep a sufficient distance between cars.
The suit claims Matejka drove her vehicle in willful disregard for the safety of persons or property which constituted reckless driving.
Haney is seeking damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, in addition to past and future medical, drug and hospital services, lost wages, interest, court costs and all other relief the court deems proper.
He is being represented in the case by Friendswood attorneys Jeffrey N. Todd of The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd.
