Galveston County driver sued after collision in Pearland

A Harris County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a collision in Pearland.

Elsa Saenz filed a lawsuit June 27 in the Galveston County District Court against Wayne C. Burns, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Saenz was driving southbound on North Main Street in Pearland on Oct. 15, 2012, when she stopped for the vehicle in front of her to make a turn.

The lawsuit says the vehicle behind Saenz also stopped, but Burns failed to stop, striking the vehicle behind Saenz which then struck her vehicle, causing injury to the plaintiff. Burns is accused of negligent driving.

Saenz is seeking more than $200,000 in damages, lost earnings and medical expenses.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Jeffrey N. Todd of The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd in Friendswood.
