Alleged slippery substance at Kroger prompts lawsuit

Caution slippery

A Texas City woman is suing after allegedly being injured at a Kroger store.

Kristin Monique Douglas filed suit June 25 in Galveston County District Court against Kroger Texas LP Store 398.

According to the complaint, on July 10, 2012, Douglas was shopping at the defendant's store in League City when she slipped and fell on a slippery substance, sustaining injury.

The defendant is accused of negligence due to allowing the substance to fall on the floor, failing to inspect the floor of the aisle, failing to provide a mat in an area it knew to be hazardous and failing to remove the slippery substance.

Douglas is seeking damages of not less than $300,000, plus costs.

She is represented by Houston attorney Reginald E. McKamie.
