Wal-Mart sued after woman slips on tissue

A Gregg County woman is suing over claims she was injured after slipping on a tissue in a Wal-Mart store.

Patricia Causey filed a lawsuit Aug. 7 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Wal-Mart Stores Texas, citing premises liability. 

According to the complaint, Causey was at the Wal-Mart on Gilmer Road in Longview on July 19 when she slipped on a tissue left on the floor and fell, sustaining injuries.

Causey says she suffered a fracture to her left arm, a wrist injury, two black eyes and a concussion. Wal-Mart is accused of premises liability and gross negligence.

Causey is seeking damages and costs of court. She is being represented by attorneys John D. Sloan and Carson R. Runge of Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher & Perry in Longview.

The case number is Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas case 2:14-cv-00849-JRG.
