A Texas resident is suing his former employer over claims of unpaid overtime wages.

Randal Mathews filed a complaint Sept. 9 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Jerry Jordan and Kathey Jordan, individually and doing business as Rite Way Insulation, alleging unpaid overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The complaint states that while the defendants employed Mathews as an insulation installer, first from 1994 to 2004 and then from October 2012 to August 2015, Mathews was paid on an hourly basis.

Mathews regularly worked more than 40 hours per week but was not paid time-and-a-half for hours worked beyond 40 hours per week.

Mathews seeks front and back pay, liquidated damages, and court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by Scott C. Skelton, Brent Watkins and Rebecca M. McMahon of Skelton, Slusher, Barnhill, Watkins, Wells PLLC in Lufkin.
