A Galveston County man is suing an Alvin woman, alleging she falsely represented she would make payments and carry insurance on a car the two bought together.

Lee Thomas Garcia filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in Galveston County District Court against Theresa Garcia Infante, alleging fraud.

According to the complaint, Garcia and Infante bought a 2011 Toyota Camry in both names, but agreed Infante was to be the primary owner, make all payments and maintain insurance coverage on the vehicle.

The suit says Infante became greatly in default of the payments and did not maintain insurance on the vehicle, and as a result, Garcia has had to make payments and carry insurance.

Garcia seeks monetary relief of less than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by attorney Wilbur H. Dunten of Dunten Law Firm in Dickinson.

Galveston County District Court case number cv-0075104.
