Overtime3

A former worker is suing a global oilfield service company, alleging unpaid overtime.

Charles Alderman Jr., individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a collective action lawsuit Oct. 7 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Newsco International Energy Services USA, alleging unpaid overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Alderman was employed by the defendant as a MWD operator and generally scheduled to work 84 hours or more per week, for which he received a base salary plus a day rate.

The suit says Alderman did not receive an overtime premium for time worked more than 40 hours per week.

Alderman and others in the class seek to recover unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorney fees and costs. He is represented by attorneys Michael A. Josephson, Andrew Dunlap, Lindsay R. Itkin and Jessica M. Bresler of Fibich, Leebron, Copeland, Briggs & Josephson in Houston, and Richard J. Burch of Bruckner Burch in Houston.

Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas case number 4:15-cv-02948.
