Contractor alleges Shawmut Design withheld funds

A Carrollton contractor is suing a Boston-based construction company, alleging it wrongfully withheld funds owed.

Corradi USA filed a lawsuit June 29 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Shawmut Design and Construction, alleging breach of contract.

The lawsuit states Corradi entered into a subcontractor agreement with Shawmut to install customized exterior and interior window shades and other services at a construction project in Boston overseen by Shawmut.

The suit alleges Corradi completed its duties under the agreement but Shawmut wrongfully is withholding funds owed the plaintiff in connection with the project.

Corradi seeks actual and compensatory damages, interests, exemplary damages, attorney fees and costs. It is represented by attorneys Steven G. Schortgen, Jennifer Klein Ayers and Ravi S. Deol of K&L Gates in Dallas.
