Transportation business sues Greatwide American, alleging breach of contract

Contract

A Texas transportation company is suing a motor carrier, alleging breach of a settlement agreement.

Tayssoun Transportation filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Greatwide American Trans-Freight, alleging breach of contract.

The suit states Tayssoun leases equipment to Greatwide American, and a fleet agreement and agency agreement between the two parties was expressly terminated on Jan. 9-April 1, 2014, which Greatwide American confirmed in writing and offered a final settlement agreement, which Tayssoun accepted.

The suit alleges Greatwide American revoked the offer after it was accepted, constituting wrongful breach of the settlement agreement.

Tayssoun seeks a judgment declaring Greatwide American is bound by the final settlement agreement and its attempted revocation is invalid. Tayssoun also seeks to recover damages, attorney fees and costs. It is represented by attorney Berry Dunbar Bowen of Houston.
