Woman seeks damages following U.S. Highway 259 accident

MARSHALL – A Daingerfield woman is seeking damages following a car accident that was allegedly caused by a driver's failure to follow basic safety procedures.

Robin Russell Gillispie filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Otis Lee White and Capital Investing Inc., doing business as C.I. Transportation Services, citing negligence.

The suit states that on Dec. 19, 2014, the defendant was operating a tractor-trailer southbound on U.S. Highway 259 in Texas when he collided with Gillispie's vehicle. According to the complaint, the defendant was allegedly driving in foggy conditions at an unsafe speed, and failed to keep a proper lookout to avoid the crash. As a result of the accident, the suit states that Gillispie suffered bodily harm as well as damages to her ability to work.

Gillispie seeks damages and a jury trial. She is represented by Mark P. McMahon of Erskine & McMahon LLP in Longview.
