Recent court documents explain that plaintiff EmPOWERED seeks to stopped purported infringement of United States Patent Number 8,884,583, or “the ’583 patent.”

According to the complaint, the patent in question pertains to fashion items “that discreetly and unassumingly incorporated an additional battery with which to charge a mobile device that would not compromise the aesthetic or functional qualities of the fashion accessory.”

EmPOWERED seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Plaintiff mBLAST asserts ownership of U.S. Patent Nos. 8,572,173; 9,047,483; and 9,047,484.

mBLAST offers an online product, also called “Mblast,” that performs real-time audience optimization for advertisers, per its legal complaint.

“Unfortunately, Mblast’s hard-earned success has been significantly curtailed by the decision of the defendant and others to offer competing products that infringe Mblast’s intellectual property,” court papers state. “Although Mblast continues to offer the Mblast product, the company has suffered significant loss of profits due to this infringement.”

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
