HOUSTON—Several men are suing a drilling services company over claims it did not pay overtime wages.
Travis Bradshaw, Tommy McCullouch, Kort Smith, Stephen Williams and Shawn Cooper, individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a class-action lawsuit on Jan. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas Houston Division against Multi-Shot LLC, alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act and the New Mexico Minimum Wage Act.
The suit states that while the plaintiffs were employed by Multi-Shot as survey and wireline field personnel, they typically worked 12 hours per day, seven days per week, for weeks at a time in the oilfield.
The suit alleges these workers should have been non-exempt under the FLSA. Instead, the suit claims the plaintiffs were paid a salary and a job bonus, but were allegedly not paid an overtime premium for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
The plaintiffs and others in the class seek to recover all back wages, liquidated damages, interests, attorney fees and costs of the suit. They are represented by attorneys Michael A.
